glenn + suzanne hubbart
Glenn founded River in the Hills in 1998, after being a part of numerous ministry teams since 1979. Glenn graduated from Baylor University in 1981 and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary until 1983.
Glenn is most passionate about seeing people awakened to God’s presence and love. It is out of personal encounter with God and His Word that Glenn believes people are truly transformed. With this in mind, he seeks to equip and train people to fulfill their God-given calling and make a powerful impact in the world where they live and work.
Although brought up in the church, Suzanne struggled in her teenage years having many questions and fears about life and faith. In 1984, during her first year in college, she began to pray, “God please show me if you are real”. In the Spring of that year, she experienced three different “power” encounters with the Holy Spirit, as she describes them, events similar to ones you would read about in the New Testament. “I felt His presence, in a tangible way, and became aware of His reality. This has altered the course of my life.”
During this pivotal time, Suzanne fell in love with the youth pastor (ha!) who is now her husband of 28 years and the father of her beloved daughter and son, Grace and Kyle.
Having a 20 year background in public education, Suzanne brings her love of teaching to the church as well as her gift of hospitality.
NATE + KALIE CASHDAN
Originally from California, Nate and Kalie moved to Texas in 2014 to plant a church. After leading that church for 2 years, Nate was asked to consider joining the leadership of River in the Hills. He and Kalie both heard clearly from the Lord that this was what He wanted them to do. They officially joined the church in December 2016.
Nate's call in life is Revival. He believes that the largest outpouring of God is right in front of us and will not stop pursuing it, walking in it and teaching how we can steward it. He and Kalie have been married since 2008.
Kalie is known by Nate as a pillar of faith. She has an amazing gift of hospitality and operates very lovingly in prophetic ministry. She is the amazing mother of many children, but 3 who live at home at this moment - Zeb, Zoe, and Zeke. Nate and Kalie are foster/adoptive parents and have been made stewards over several beautiful children. Together they founded and currently lead Fervent Embrace Ministries - an organization aimed at mobilizing the Church to take on the call to care for the orphans.
Youth and Young Adults Pastor + Prayer Room Coordinator
Kyle grew up in the church. As you may gather from the last name, his parents are the pastors! He attended every Sunday service, had an active role in church media, along with participation in numerous youth programs. Yet there was a problem: God wasn’t real to him. Kyle didn’t have a relationship with Jesus. Without a solid foundation of faith, his collegiate career was characterized by iniquity.
The eventual culmination of this rebellion led to the darkest night of Kyle’s soul - a harrowing, life-threatening battle on a hospital bed from an alcohol addiction. The Lord revealed Himself to Kyle in a miraculous way that night. The living Christ plucked him from the jaws of death. Fast forward to the present: a life set ablaze with holy passion, marked by the desire to violently love Jesus and turn many to righteousness.
He is married to Brooke and they are expecting their first child in 2019!
Worship + Prayer Room Music Director
Rachael was born and raised in a small town in northern New Jersey. At age 12 she had a life-changing encounter with God where He marked her as a singer and worship leader. When she turned 17, Rachael moved to Kansas City, MO to attend the Forerunner Music Academy (FMA) at the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC). While there she attended theology classes that equipped her in the Word, and prayer and music classes that caused her to grow as a musician and worship leader. After graduating from FMA, Rachael joined staff at IHOPKC where she led a worship team on the NightWatch, taught and administrated classes in FMA, and helped give leadership to the Global Prayer Room for almost three years.
After stepping down from full-time ministry to pursue a degree in Christian Counseling, the Lord tenderly reminded Rachael that her gifting and calling were primarily to minister to Him and His people in the context of prayer, worship, and full-time ministry. Shortly thereafter, Rachael was invited to join River in the Hills as their worship director where she now serves full time. Rachael's heart is to use her gifts to lead others into friendship with God through worship and prayer, to teach and equip others in both biblical and practical principles of worship, and to see the Body of Christ come alive as they touch the heart of God through worship and prayer.
Beverly joined River In The Hills Church leadership team in November 2003. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Business/Finance Ministry for the church. She draws on her relationship with the LORD, family, friends, and her past experiences managing in a Semiconductor Corporation to assist her position.
Beverly desires for everyone to taste and see that the LORD is good. She chooses to live her life, to the best of her ability, loving God with all her heart, mind, and soul and loving others as God has loved her. She believes that it is important for everyone to recognize that they are “blessed and highly favored”. It is her belief that if everyone had a better understanding of the Power of Exchange of the Cross, they would better understand what it means to be blessed and highly favored.
According to the New Testament, elders are responsible for the primary leadership and oversight of a church. The function and role of an elder is well summarized by Alexander Strauch in his book Biblical Eldership:
Elders lead the church [1 Tim 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1-2]
Teach and preach the Word [1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9]
Protect the church from false teachers [Acts 20:17, 28-31]
Exhort and admonish the saints in sound doctrine [1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:13-17; Titus 1:9]
Visit the sick and pray [James 5:14; Acts 20:35]
Judge doctrinal issues [Acts 15:16]
Our RITH Elders include Paul Wyatt, Gary Douthitt, Wayne Paterson, Pastor Glenn Hubbart, and Frank Parrott.
