Senior Pastors

Glenn founded River in the Hills in 1998, after being a part of numerous ministry teams since 1979. Glenn graduated from Baylor University in 1981 and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary until 1983.

Glenn is most passionate about seeing people awakened to God’s presence and love. It is out of personal encounter with God and His Word that Glenn believes people are truly transformed. With this in mind, he seeks to equip and train people to fulfill their God-given calling and make a powerful impact in the world where they live and work.

Although brought up in the church, Suzanne struggled in her teenage years having many questions and fears about life and faith. In 1984, during her first year in college, she began to pray, “God please show me if you are real”. In the Spring of that year, she experienced three different “power” encounters with the Holy Spirit, as she describes them, events similar to ones you would read about in the New Testament. “I felt His presence, in a tangible way, and became aware of His reality. This has altered the course of my life.”

During this pivotal time, Suzanne fell in love with the youth pastor (ha!) who is now her husband of 28 years and the father of her beloved daughter and son, Grace and Kyle.

Having a 20 year background in public education, Suzanne brings her love of teaching to the church as well as her gift of hospitality.

Associate Pastor

Originally from California, Nate and Kalie moved to Texas in 2014 to plant a church.  After leading that church for 2 years, Nate was asked to consider joining the leadership of River in the Hills.  He and Kalie both heard clearly from the Lord that this was what He wanted them to do.  They officially joined the church in December 2016.

Nate's call in life is Revival.  He believes that the largest outpouring of God is right in front of us and will not stop pursuing it, walking in it and teaching how we can steward it.  He and Kalie have been married since 2008.

Kalie is known by Nate as a pillar of faith.  She has an amazing gift of hospitality and operates very lovingly in prophetic ministry.  They are the proud parents of 3 powerful kiddos; Zeb, Zoe and Zeke.

Nate is the author of The Religious Spirit and also leads Nate Cashdan Ministries.  You can visit his website HERE for more information.

kyle hubbart
Youth and Young Adults Pastor + Prayer Room Coordinator

As you may gather from the last name, Kyle’s parents are the lead pastors! He has been part of this church since it’s founding in the late ‘90s. After a youthful season of wandering away from his roots, Jesus miraculously rescued Kyle from the jaws of death and delivered him from a debilitating alcohol addiction by pouring out His liquid, redeeming love in July of 2013.

Ever since Kyle’s defining moment, that soul shaking encounter with the One whose love is better than wine, his life has been set ablaze with a holy passion for God’s Presence & Word, a zeal for the lost, for Israel to be saved and to ultimately to live every day with the intent to hasten the return of Jesus.

Kyle desires to see Jesus get the reward of His suffering by contending for a regional revival and awakening among the youth and young adults, through focused prayer in the Lake Travis Prayer Room and weekly discipleship, meetings and Bible studies.

Married in 2017, Kyle and Brooke have journeyed together as pastors and they find great joy in training up two beautiful children, Lane and Briggs, to be all that God has dreamed for them to be.

Church elders

According to the New Testament, elders are responsible for the primary leadership and oversight of a church. The function and role of an elder is well summarized by Alexander Strauch in his book Biblical Eldership:

  • Elders lead the church [1 Tim 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1-2]

  • Teach and preach the Word [1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9]

  • Protect the church from false teachers [Acts 20:17, 28-31]

  • Exhort and admonish the saints in sound doctrine [1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:13-17; Titus 1:9]

  • Visit the sick and pray [James 5:14; Acts 20:35]

  • Judge doctrinal issues [Acts 15:16]

Our RITH Elders include Gary Douthitt, Frank Parrott, Wayne Paterson, Pastor Glenn Hubbart, and Todd Adams.
